Pheonix with Juanpa Marcos

Captured on the bow of Phoenix is bowman Juanpa, preparing to deal with a kite drop at the bottom gate. This is the last race of the day and after a series of AP's this race starts late in the afternoon. As a result the sun is much lower in the sky creating longer darker shadows and more yellow light. Waiting at the bottom gate I am hoping a moment like this will come; where the subject is backlit through the kite. In this particular shot it worked better than I could have hoped, with a very clear outline of the bowman. On closer inspection one can also see two more people on deck. Overall a typical definition of engineering the shot and hoping it works as you planned.
