The IMOCA 60 Charal in full stable flight during the Defi Auzimt Speed trials. This image represents the new age of foiling IMOCAs and the future where the class develops fully foiling boats. This image stands out in the technology on display and the time it took to get the right light lined up with the right moment. To me, that is what it's all about a lot of preparation, some skill and a huge amount of patience waiting for that moment. This moment finally came when Charal took its final run of the day during the speed runs with a speed of 29 knots. This run happened at the very end of the day which provided this beautiful light bouncing off the island of Gouix. But to line all of the different factors into this image took many hours of manoeuvring the rib and waiting for that moment.
