This picture was taken during the Illes Balears de Clàssics regatta, an important event on the classics race calendar on the Med. I was invited to shoot on board SY Marigan, a 1898 gaff cutter owned by a skilled sailor. At midday, the breeze came in, and sailing began to be more dynamic. Immediately all deck became wet. When sailing up-wind, the guardrail is mostly under water. No hand rails or other protection to avoid falling to sea. Ii is really impressive how far can you push your photo equipment, taking pics on conditions like this. Sailing on a classics is real sailing!
