"Sailing photography is magical and phenomenally important to the sport," says Alexandra Rickham, Head of Sustainability at World Sailing. "It is the only way to really capture and share with the wider world, those pure moments of the sport that only those participating get to experience, where nature and humanity collide. I love photography so an opportunity to be a part of the MYRI international jury and spend time looking at the best moments captured throughout the year is truly a privilege."
The 80 best images (selected by the international jury) will be published on the event website on 13 October. The public will then have until 8 November to vote for their favourite photo.
The winners of the competition will be announced and celebrated during METSTRADE on 16 November in a ceremony open to the public.
The main prize, the Mirabaud Yacht Racing Image award, will be selected by the international jury, while the public prize will be based on the votes cast online. Finally, the Delegates Award will be based on votes by delegates at the annual World Sailing conference and Metstrade visitors.
Photographs can be submitted until midnight on 8 October on the event website.
