Born in the city of Arkhangelsk, Russia. Three years later, they were moved to Severomorsk, Murmansk region. Be in school. Finished. Serve in army. Then he served. Moved to Murmansk. He worked on Kolguev island in the Arctic, on an oil drilling rig. Graduated in absentia from the Moscow faculty of photojournalism at the Union of journalists of Russia.
